From Forest Hill you can look toward the Yonge-Eglinton skyline and get a city view that feels very Toronto without being in the financial district.

North York also works as a base when you want high-rise views and easy subway access without staying right downtown.

Forest Hill and Yonge-Eglinton

Forest Hill gives you one of those useful local views where trees, fall colour, and towers sit together. Yonge-Eglinton is close enough to pair with the view and its shopping centre is worth checking out if your group wants an indoor stop.

North York Centre

A hotel room view over North York gives a different Toronto feeling: dense, vertical, and practical. North York Centre subway station is connected to mall-style shopping, so it works in bad weather.

TTC planning

North York Centre and Yonge-Eglinton sit on Line 1, only a handful of subway stops apart. Still, build in time because TTC service can be slower than the map makes it look.

Who it is for

Good for people who like city views, fall walks, shopping-mall backups, visiting parents, students, and anyone who wants Toronto without only doing downtown tourist stops.

Quick fit

  • Forest Hill skyline view
  • Yonge-Eglinton shopping
  • North York Centre mall connection
  • Line 1 subway planning
Planning note: Use the subway as a loose connector, not a tight timer. If dinner or check-in matters, leave a buffer.
